Overview

This retreat is designed for deep inner work. The days move gently between guided meditation sittings, pranayama and breathwork, silent walks, and evening satsang with Maa Nisha Kabir — with periods of noble silence held throughout.

The retreat is available both at our Tarkeshwor center, on the quiet slopes of Nagarjun forest, and online for international students who cannot travel. Online participants join live sessions and receive the same individual guidance.

No prior meditation experience is required. What matters is the willingness to sit, to be quiet, and to look inward for ten days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The retreat begins with clear instruction and builds gradually. Beginners often find that ten structured days establish a practice more surely than years of occasional sitting.
Noble silence is held from evening until after breakfast every day, and fully on designated deep-silence days. You can always speak with the teachers about practice questions or personal needs.
Online participants join the morning and evening sessions live via video call, receive daily practice instructions, and have a scheduled one-on-one guidance call with Maa Nisha Kabir. Recordings are provided where time zones make live attendance difficult.
In-person retreatants are asked to hand in devices at the start and check them briefly on rest afternoons if needed. The silence works better without the pull of notifications — this is a large part of what you come for.
